THRA’s Drop-In Center on Austin’s Eastside is open to the community weekdays & gives out items that help meet the needs of our neighbors.
You can donate via Amazon Wishlist or in person at our Drop-In Center
Donations we accept at drop-in:
Gently worn, clean clothing for adults
Clean socks & underwear
Gently used shoes for adults
Hygiene products
Wound care & first aid
Period products
Beauty, care & personal safety items for femmes*
Blankets
Sleeping bags
Books
Art supplies & journals
Dog & cat food
Snack foods & beverages
Narcan/naloxone (including expired narcan/naloxone)
Sharps containers (as well as puncture-proof plastic like empty laundry detergent bottles that can be used as sharps containers)
We do not accept donations of: children’s clothing or other children’s items; pantry goods that require cooking (like uncooked pasta, rice, or canned goods); clothing not appropriate to the season (like heavy coats in summer, due to lack of storage space); or damaged/torn adult clothing.
*Every Wednesday, THRA’s drop-in is creates a space for women & LGBTQ+ people. Most of these community members are also unhoused. Donations specifically for femmes - makeup, lotion, body sprays, textured haircare products, self-defense whistles or alarms - are always welcome!
Most donations can be dropped off during regular hours of operation, Mondays - Thursdays from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm.
Larger donations can typically be accepted from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Tuesdays - Fridays or 3:00 - 5:00 pm Mondays - Fridays. To coordinate a drop-off during these hours, text or call 512-585-7145.
